Dr. Mark Hartman
Lead Pastor
Pastor Mark Hartman has been the Lead Pastor of Sugar Creek Baptist Church for over 10 years. Pastor Mark loves the Bible, because he knows it has the power to guide anyone through any situation they may face.
He also enjoys every kind of sports, has been found with a fishing pole in his hands from time-to-time and even shot his first deer a few years ago. His favorite teams include the Texas Rangers, the Houston Texans and he is a loyal fan of the Oklahoma Sooners.
Dr. Hartman has been married to his beautiful wife, Kathy, over 30 years. They have two sons: Matthew, who is married to wonderful Shara, and Jonathan. The new prides of his life are his and Kathy’s grandchildren: Jude, Emily and Benjamin.

Communion is now offered every Sunday in the Next Step Center at 9:40 and 11:10 AM. The elements of bread and juice are used as symbols of Christ’s body that was broken and His blood that was shed for the remission of our sins. We invite those who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to participate in this time of communion. Clif Cummings
Associate Pastor
Clif Cummings has been in full-time ministry for over 34 years serving churches and communities throughout Oklahoma and southeast Texas. He began as a Minister of Music/Youth (but don’t ask him to sing) and served for 17 years in Student and Family ministry. He has served as an Education and Administration pastor and for 14 years as a Senior Pastor.
Clif is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and received his Masters Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, having served as a volunteer police chaplain since 2007.
He has been married to his best friend, Pamela for over 36 years. They have two children: Joy is their daughter, married to Captain Andrew Lindgren and their beautiful daughter, Abigail Glory, is their GRANDdaugther. Their son Zachary has his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and currently resides in Wichita Falls, TX.
Juan Carlos Heredia
Pastor of Spanish Ministry
Juan Carlos serves as our Spanish Ministries Pastor. He hails from Quito, Ecuador, where he played professional youth soccer. He has a passion for God and reaching the Spanish community with the message of God’s love and redemption. He enjoys a good book and spending time with his family when he’s not doing ministry work or finishing his Masters in Theology with Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Geyce, have three children and enjoy serving God together.
Dr. Dalton Havard
Pastor Emeritus
Dr. Dalton Havard is no stranger to Sugar Creek. He was our senior pastor from 1979 to 1988 and now serves as our Pastor Emeritus. For the past twenty years, Dr. Havard has done international mission work and has preached on six continents. Dr. Havard holds degrees from Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Odowara College in Odowara Japan.
Dr. Havard is married to his wonderful wife Lois. He has two children, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
