We are Christian in our presentations, our prayers, and our focus. Your 30-Second Commercial
Learn to write a clear and concise statement of the position you’re seeking, along with your prior job experience, accomplishments, skills and the personal qualities that make you an excellent candidate for that position. This statement will be utilized in your networking efforts, resume summary statement and in the job interview.
The “World’s Best” Resume
Why do we say that our format is “The World’s Best Resume”? Just one reason: It works! We’ll cover all the essential ingredients of an effective resume aimed at surviving the culling process and winning a job interview.
Researching Prospective Employers
Research is used to identify those companies for which you might be interested in working. Learning about the company’s culture, before you go for an interview, will likely increase your chances for success. We’ll help you identify the best sources for gleaning the information you need.
Networking and Telemarketing
To hear about those prime, unpublished job openings, get the inside scoop on the company that most interests you, learn what they’re really looking for in an employee, and even have an insider pave the way for your interview, networking is the best way to spend your job search time and energy. We’ll cover some of the most useful networking tips, plus the best telemarketing techniques for getting the job interview.
Interviewing & Non-Verbal Skills
The job interview is an opportunity to present your skills, experience and accomplishments. Those are important, but remember that companies only hire people they like! So, most importantly, the interview is an opportunity to sell yourself. In this class, you’ll learn how to sell both your job skills and your personal qualities.
Planning and Commitment
We all know that we should get organized, but we often don’t. Your search deserves the same kind of careful planning that you would put into a job, and that plan should be set down in writing. But, even that is not enough. The spark that ignites the engine is commitment. You must commit yourself to actually follow your written and organized job search plan. We’ll give you our recommendations for a weekly allocation of your time among the various job search activities.
Reading Your Interviewer’s Favorite Communication Style
As the result of genetics and/or environmental training, every person is influenced by four basic “learning styles”. In each individual, one of those fundamental styles is dominant; a second also has a strong influence upon the way that person prefers to communicate. By developing the ability to quickly detect the dominant learning style of your interviewer, you are then able to adjust your interaction with that person, and the way you present information, in order to accommodate the interviewer’s preferences. That will make him/her more comfortable with you, and more amenable to hearing what you have to say.
Building Your Own Action Plan
Structured around “Management By Objectives (MBO)”, this class encourages each participant to build his or her own personal action plan. You’ll begin by identifying your Career Goal. Then, you will set Objectives critical to reaching your goal; Strategies to achieve your objectives; Key Audiences who can help you and Hot Buttons to enlist their support. Finally, we will detail the “To Do” list that identifies specific actions you will take. This planning pyramid is a tool to help focus and direct your job-hunting efforts.
Saving Your Home During Unemployment
This class gives free mortgage and credit information for anyone that may have questions. Information about how to save your home during unemployment, and how companies look at your credit during this period.
