2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (NLT)

When a spirit of fear grips our hearts, it creates a timidity that immobilizes us. That never comes from God.

A. Ephesians 2:19 …You are a member of God’s very own family … and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.

B. God’s family is made up of people from all ethnicities and all nations and that was Jesus idea all along.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (NIV)

C. We are the church of Jesus Christ. We are to be different. We are to be a bridge of hope and help for others.

A. Geese are smart enough to know they are going somewhere, and they can get there best together.

B. Three reasons why we need each other:

1. We are flying to the same place.

John 14:2-3 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (NKJV)

2. We can fly further and faster together.

a. “When you run alone you run fast. But when you run together you run far.” (Zambian proverb)

b. Hebrews 10:25 says let us not give up the habit of meeting together. Instead let us encourage each other.

c. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather together as My followers, I am there among them. (NLT)

3. When we are struggling, we need others to see us through it.

Ecclesiastes 4:10,12 If one person falls, another can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better for a triple braided cord is not easily broken.
