INTRODUCTION
Worship is about seeing God again and coming back to a deeper relationship with Him.
Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. [2] Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. [3] And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.’

1. OUR GREATEST NEED IS TO ENCOUNTER GOD. (ISAIAH 6:1-4)

A Isaiah discovered that God is Holy.

    1. Isaiah 6:1-4 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. [2] Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. [3] And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.’
    2. The chief attribute of God is purity.

B. Isaiah discovered that God is Sovereign.

Psalm 103:19 The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.

C. God will use anything at His disposal to provide an opportunity for us to encounter Him.

2. GENUINE WORSHIP ALWAYS PRODUCES A FRESH PURITY IN OUR HEARTS. (ISAIAH 6:5-7)

A. Isaiah 6:5Woe to me! I cried. I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.

    1. God is looking for personal brokenness within us.
    2. Brokenness over sin is the beginning of genuine worship.

B. Isaiah 6:6-7 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, ‘See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.’

There is no cleansing without confession, there is no confession without conviction, and there is no conviction without seeing what clean really is. It is the Lord high and lifted up.

3. THE NATURAL RESPONSE OF ENCOUNTERING GOD IS SURRENDER. (ISAIAH 6: 8)

A. Isaiah 6:8 Then God said, ‘Who will go for us? Whom shall I send?’

B. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

C. 1 Timothy 2:4 …who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
