INTRODUCTION

Matthew 6:34  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

1. WE DON’T HAVE TO LIVE WITH WORRY.

A. You matter to God. (Matthew 6:26)

Matthew 6:26  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

B. Worry won’t help you anyway.  (Matthew 6:27)

Matthew 6:27  And which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature.

C. God has promised to meet your needs.  (Matthew 6:28-30)

Matthew 6:28-30  And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

D. Matthew 6:31-32  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans (people without God) run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

2. TRUST GOD TO TAKE CARE OF YOU.  (Matthew 6:33)

A. Matthew 6:33  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

B. Start your goals with God in the center and when you do, God will meet the needs in your life.

C. God has an appointed time to meet your need.  Be patient with God’s timing.

D. Proverbs 16:9  A man’s heart plans his way,  But the LORD directs his steps. (NKJV)

E. Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;   6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  (NKJV)

3. DON’T MISS TODAY BY WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW.

A. Matthew 6:34  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

God does not give us the grace today to handle tomorrow.  He only gives us the grace today to handle today.  Live today in His grace, one day at a time.

B. Psalm 119:105  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (NKJV)
