Few things are harder than a life redirection.

A life redirection is hard because of:

    • The pain of our loss.
    • The opinion of others around us.

When facing a life redirection, we look for a formula rather than faith

1 Peter 5:5b (CSB)All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

The key to a successful life redirection is humility.

Humility builds, but pride destroys.

Proverbs 18:12 (ESV)Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

Every life redirection begins with humility, while every life misdirection begins with pride.

Proverbs 29:23 A person’s pride will humble him, but a humble spirit will gain honor.

Humility embraces God’s authority.

Jesus modeled what we should follow.

Philippians 2:5-8 (CSB)Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus, 6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. 7 Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man, 8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

How do we develop humility?

1 Peter 5:66 Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time…

Trust God’s mighty power and perfect timing.

Surrender to God the illusion of your control.

1 Peter 5:7a…casting all your cares on him…

Remember that God cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7…casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you.
