Part 4 – What Does God Want?
Book of Micah 6:6-8

We naturally section-off our life.

We behave differently in each area.

The problem is that we often disconnect our relationship with God from the rest of our life.

Micah 6:6-8  With what shall I come to the Lord and bow myself before the God on high? Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings, with yearling calves?

7 Does the Lord take pleasure in thousands of rams, In ten thousand rivers of oil?  Shall I give Him my firstborn for my wrongdoings, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He has told you, mortal one, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

God doesn’t want rituals; He wants a relationship.

God doesn’t want your stuff; He wants your Heart.

“It was a spiritual worship that the Lord required; not externals, not outward gifts, but the heart. If thou wilt bring an offering, bring thyself; there is no other gift that the Lord so much desires.”  Charles Spurgeon

Symptoms of a Submitted Heart

  • I want what God wants  (Do Justice)

What pain have you become callous to?

  • I see people God’s way.  (Love Mercy)

Where do I struggle to show grace?

  • I’m committed to a consistent relationship with God.  (Walk Humbly with God)

How does this help me grow closer to God?

True revival comes from a heart turned toward God, resulting in godly living.

Romans 12:1  And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.  (NLT)
