Adults

We’ve experienced a lot of challenges in the last few years. But since we live in an increasingly fragmented and disconnected world, many of us walked through these challenges alone. But we believe God never intended for us to go through life alone. This is why thousands of adults participate in a Connect Group each semester. These smaller-sized groups help our big church feel smaller, help people build authentic friendships, and discover answers to life’s questions together. This summer is a perfect time to try one of the many Connect Groups across our campuses. Wherever you are in life, there’s a Connect Group for you at Sugar Creek.

Connect Groups

This July, our adult Connect Groups at Sugar Land will come together to study and fellowship. If you are not in a Connect Group or are interested in Sunday morning study, this is a great opportunity to join us to experience Bible study in a relational, supportive environment. Visit our Events page for detailed information for both campuses when available.

Missions

Isaiah’s famous words in response to the Lord’s invitation to speak on His behalf: “Here I am, Lord, Send me!” In the few verses before, we find that Isaiah’s response of complete surrender came after he experienced God’s sovereignty, power, and holiness, realizing how his sin separated him from God. But God did for him what He could not do for himself. A seraph sent by God burned his lips with a piece of coal from God’s altar, symbolizing that God was forgiving His sins and taking his guilt away. God’s act of love motivated Isaiah to surrender his life to serve God and say, “Here I am, Lord! Send me.”

If you have believed in Jesus Christ, you have experienced what Isaiah experienced. You know that we only have a relationship with God and forgiveness of our sins because Jesus was born to take our place on the cross later. He did for us what we could not do for ourselves. The gospel inspires us to serve God, not to earn His love but because we have experienced His love, and we want others to experience what we have experienced in Jesus. I pray you will consider being a part of what God has allowed us to do for His Kingdom. Here are a few ways you can do that:

Short Term Missions

Houston is one of the country’s top 5 largest and most diverse cities. Over 7 million people live, work, play, and go to school in the greater Houston area. The needs are more than one church can handle. So, we collaborate with local Christ-centered partners with different areas of expertise to meet needs and plant Christ-centered churches in Houston and surrounding areas.

A little overwhelmed by the choices? Share your passions with our Pastor of Local missions and he will provide several options that fit your passions. We can get you connected with great leaders to help you get started in missions.

Gospel Conversation Training
Gospel Conversation
Training 1

April 24 or June 26
In this interactive time of spiritual growth we learn God’s plan for the redemption of humanity and understanding Jesus’ command to go and make disciples. We learn how to find where God has opened doors for us to have Gospel centered conversations with our friends, relatives and co-workers and neighbors.

Gospel Conversation Training 2

May 29

In this highly participatory class, we teach how to confidently lead someone in the next steps in their faith journey. In this class, participants have more opportunities to practice gospel conversation tools. We will teach a Three-thirds method that empowers participants to be able to create simple and engaging bible studies for themselves, family, friends, co-workers, or relatives.

Sugar Creek works with world-class partners that are actively engaged in discipleship. Our trip participants help our partners make an impact with the gospel in their ministry field. Our goal is to send teams that can strengthen and reinforce the work they are currently doing. We provide trip participants with the appropriate training for each trip. We ensure that you will be confident and prepared for every task.

Members are eligible for a 50% scholarship. Ex. If the trip cost is $2000.00 and fundraising protocols are followed, Sugar Creek will pay $1000 towards the trip. This means the trip participant will only raise $1000. Team leaders train each participant on the fundraising process. They will aid in the writing of the fundraising letter and teach you how to raise support and awareness. Each team leader has been through the process before and is happy to help you.
