Introduction

  • Peace is not the absence of problems; peace is the presence of Jesus in the midst of problems.
  • John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
  • In 2021, you will have trouble in the world, but you can have peace in Christ.
  • The peace that Jesus offers is unshakable by the troubles of this world.

Where does Unshakable Peace come from?

  • You are loved and liked by the Father.
  • John 16:27 For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
  • While Agape Love is an overarching divine love that God has for everyone, Phileo Love is a specific family kind of Love. It means deep personal affection.
  • John 16:27-28  For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.
  • Jesus has prayed for you.
  • John 17:20 I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in me through their word…
  • Romans 8:34  Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.
  • Hebrews 7:25 Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede for them.
  • Jesus will come to you through the Holy Spirit.
  • John 14:16-18 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. 17 He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive him because it doesn’t see him or know him. But you do know him, because he remains with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.
  • God promises that our grief is temporary, but our joy will be eternal.
  • John 16:20, 22  Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. 22 So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
  • Jesus has already overcome.
  • John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
  • 1 John 5:4-5  for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
  • Romans 8:31-32, 37-39  What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? …. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
