INTRODUCTION

Seeing they don’t see; and hearing they don’t hear, neither do they understand.  (Jesus)

1. YOUR GREATEST TREASURE IS TO KNOW GOD.

A. Ephesians 1:17  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.

B. The Greek word, ginosko, means to move from knowing about something to knowing something intimately.

C. Philippians 3:10  I want to know  (Greek – ginosko) Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in his death,

D. Psalm 34:8  O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good!  Blessed (and to be envied) is the one who trusts and takes refuge in Him.  (Amplified)

2. KNOWING GOD CREATES CONFIDENT HOPE.

A. Ephesians 1:18  I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you,

B. The word Hope in the Bible means something in which we have the promise and assurance that will come.

1. “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name… When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay….” (Solid Rock, Hymn)

2. 1 John 3:2-3  Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, and we can’t even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns. But we do know that when He comes, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is.  3 And all who believe this will keep themselves pure, just as Christ is pure. (NLT)

3. BECAUSE GOD TREASURES YOU, HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM.

A. Ephesians 1:18  I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints

B. This verse is not talking about how rich we are but how rich God considers Himself to be because you are in His family.

C. You are the riches of God!  This series asks the question “Who Am I?”  And this is God’s answer.  “You are My treasure!” (God)

D. Romans 8:31  If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (NLT)
