INTRODUCTION

There is a difference between head knowledge and lived beliefs.
You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.  James 2:19 (NLT)

I AM POWERFUL IN CHRIST.

Ephesians 1:18-23  I pray that the eyes of your hear may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. (NASB)

A. What does God’s power “toward us” look like?

1. A Confidence and a calm during the stress times of our lives.

2 Corinthians 12:9  But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2. When I sense that my focus is shifting from the source of my struggle to my dependence upon God.

3. Obedience to God in spite of my flesh.

4. A divine intervention of God.

5. When I realize there is no such thing as a hopeless situation.

3. Receiving God’s Power in your life requires faith demonstrated by obedience.

Matthew 17:20  …I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.  (NIV)
