When life gets difficult, our natural instinct is to reach for whatever is closest rather than what's best. The prophet Isaiah promised that God would send light into darkness through a child who would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy perfectly, proving we can trust God completely. Because of who Jesus is, we don't need to frantically reach for counsel, confidence, coverage, or comfort from other sources. Instead of asking what we can do for God, we should focus on receiving what God has already provided through Jesus.
