2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Prayer MinistryPrayer Ministry

Every week here at Sugar Creek our members and guests submit hundreds of prayer requests through our welcome cards and online requests from the Sugar Creek mobile app. Our new prayer page allows anyone to pray over these requests. For more information on the Prayer Ministry, download our brochure.

Sugar Creek is a praying church. Our Prayer Leadership Team encourages everyone each Sunday to be praying for God’s Spirit in our Sunday morning worship gatherings – to use those who lead and to challenge, convict, and change those who attend.

One Sunday a month in each of our morning services, Prayer Ministers are in the Worship Center ready to receive anyone who is in need of prayer. And the altar is always open for anyone to come down and call out to the Lord in prayer.

Life difficulties, personal conflicts, emotional pain, and any and all crises that may arise are NOT something we have to endure, but rather an opportunity to “be transformed by the renewing of our minds” (Rom. 12:2) Transformation prayer is prayer that allows people to honestly bring their life struggles to the Lord. Trained facilitators help the person get to the roots of his pain, which is often caused by false beliefs. These beliefs are then held up to God and replaced with His truth, which transforms us. Truth based pain is also dealt with and is often given to the Lord, which results in peace and freedom. We believe that “the peace of Christ can reign in our hearts and minds in every circumstance” (II Thes. 3:16). These one-hour prayer sessions consist of the facilitator, an intercessor, and the recipient.

Trained male and female facilitators are available to pray for anyone (men, women, youth, children) in a private prayer room on the Sugar Land Campus. Three consecutive weekly sessions are recommended, but not mandatory. The best times to do this are:

* Tuesdays – morning and evening
* Thursday evening
* Friday morning

People desiring sessions should email Kathy at with that request and include their cell phone number, and the desired time and date for their session.

Our Wednesday Night Prayer meetings are called “International Night of Prayer” and meet at the Sugar Land Campus, Adult Ministry Building room 260 at each Wednesday at 7 PM.

As we have watched our church body and city grow to represent the nations, our prayer meetings are also a representation of the nations coming together to pray for God’s hand of leadership in our families, church, community and nation! Everyone is welcome!

This group gathers once a month to specifically pray for ministry efforts to those involved in human trafficking. Anyone interested in praying and being involved in the work against human trafficking is invited to join us! We gather the first Tuesday of every month from 9-10am in the Commons Place Room, on the Sugar Land campus.

This is a unique and creative experience of worship, prayer, and love. This special event features different nations, rich multimedia elements, and a variety of creative interactive elements designed to enable you to experience God’s love throughout the evening, and, in turn, to express God’s love through lives of obedience to His Word, empowered by His Spirit. All ages are welcome!

Watch church promotions or visit our Events page for the next upcoming Concert of Prayer!

Once a month in each of Sugar Creek’s Sunday morning services, a team of Spirit-filled Prayer Ministers pray personally for church service attendees who desire it. These ministers are prayer warriors who love the Lord and love to pray for people. If you are a Sugar Creek member who feels called by God to serve in this way, please contact the church office to express your interest and know what your next steps are.
