Part 3 | What Bring Us Together
Ephesians 4:4-16 | October 12, 2025

1. We Are United by a Mutual Love for Christ.
Ephesians 4:4-6 - There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call —5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
•We are one body.
•We share one Spirit.
•We are called to one hope.
•We worship One LORD.
•We have the same faith.
•We share one baptism.
•We have One Father.
A. What binds us together is faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only way to God.
Philippians 2:9-11 - Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
2. We Are United by a Mutual Love for God’s Word.
Ephesians 4:7-10 - But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore, it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” 9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
A. The Bible is unified in one theme and therefore unites us.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
3. We Are United by a Mutual Love for God’s Mission.
Ephesians 4:11-12 - And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…
Ephesians 4:13-16 - until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
“Our mission is to love and lead all people to life change in Christ.”
We are better and remain together when we prioritize our love for Christ, His Word, and His mission.
