Sin destroyed our intimacy with one another.
- Genesis 3:7 (NET) Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Sin destroyed our intimacy with God.
- Genesis 3:8-10 (NET) 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God moving about in the orchard at the breezy time of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the orchard. 9 But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 The man replied, “I heard you moving about in the orchard, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”
Sin will always shame us into hiding from the very God who loves us the most.
Every counterfeit intimacy is an attempt to replace the intimacy we were created to have with God.
While culture reduces sex to something merely physical, God designed it to be profoundly spiritual.
Intimacy is eroded when commitment is erased.
- 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality! Every sin a person commits is outside of the body—but the immoral person sins against his own body.

Only a heart satisfied in God stops searching for counterfeit intimacy.
