Abide: A Guide Through the Gospels

6/24/2026

Summer can easily become full of travel, camps, vacations, busy schedules, and all the little moments that fill our days. But what if this summer became more than just busy? What if it became a season of knowing Jesus more deeply?

In John 15, Jesus tells us, “I am the true vine.” He invites us to abide in Him; to remain close, connected, and dependent on Him. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit apart from the vine, we cannot experience the fullness of life Jesus offers apart from Him.

That is the heart behind this call. Over 12 weeks, we are reading through the Gospels together. Each day includes just one or two chapters, along with a few simple questions to help us reflect on what we are reading and respond to Jesus personally. This is not about checking a box, keeping up with everyone else, or trying to become more “spiritual.” It is about making space to be with Jesus. When we open God’s Word each day, we begin to see Him more clearly. We see how Jesus lived. We hear what He taught. We notice what He loved, what moved Him, and what grieved Him. We watch Him serve, heal, forgive, confront, sacrifice, die, and rise again. And as we come to know Him more, He changes us.

We do not want to be people who only hear about Jesus on Sundays or catch a sermon clip during the week. We want to be people who know Him; people who sit with His words, follow His example, and learn to abide in Him in the ordinary moments of everyday life. And best of all, we get to walk through this reading plan together. Across our church family, we will be opening the same passages, asking the same questions, and growing in the same direction. Whether you have been reading the Bible for years or are not sure where to begin, this plan is for you.

Our prayer is simple: that by the end of the summer, we will not be the same people we are today.

The true vine is calling us closer. Let’s abide in Him together.
