Plan Ahead for Sunday
If you're headed to the Sugar Land Campus this Sunday, give yourself a little extra time getting to church. A scheduled road closure on northbound US-59/I-69 may add traffic and detours to your normal route. But this won't keep us from gathering with our church family and having a great Sunday together!
TxDOT is closing the northbound main lanes of US-59/I-69 between Exit 111 at Sugar Creek/Dairy Ashford and S. Kirkwood Road for bridge maintenance. The closure begins Friday, September 18, at 9 p.m. and is expected to remain in place until Monday, September 21, at 5 a.m.
If you normally travel northbound on 59/I-69 to get to campus, you will be directed onto the frontage road at Exit 111 and can re-enter the main lanes near S. Kirkwood Road. That means your usual Sunday morning drive may require a little more patience, and perhaps one fewer hits of the snooze button.
We know traffic delays are never anyone’s favorite part of the weekend. But Sunday is worth planning for. Worshiping together, seeing familiar faces, serving one another, and making room for God’s Word can be exactly the encouragement we need for the week ahead.
So this Sunday:
- Leave home a little earlier than usual.
- Check your route before you head out.
- Consider an alternate route if you are traveling northbound on US-59/I-69.
- Watch for workers, follow posted detour signs, and drive safely.
- Plan to arrive with enough time to park, take a deep breath, grab some coffee, and settle in.
Thank you for planning ahead, traveling safely, and making the extra effort to be with us. See you Sunday!
